We are a female four part harmony A Cappella group and we sing all genres of music including traditional barbershop and contemporary arrangements
We learn our songs by listening to audio teach tracks so you do not need to read music – but it helps!
We meet every Thursday evening except during Christmas when we take a couple of weeks break
We are a registered chorus of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) which is a worldwide organisation of female singers with over 600 choruses in 13 countries
We pay a monthly membership fee which covers chorus and organisation expenses. This is currently £25 per month.
What you can expect from us:
Fun, friendship, laughter and a lot of singing!
The opportunity to learn how to sing well and to improve your vocal and performance skills
We will supply all necessary music and audio teach tracks
You will have the opportunity to meet and sing with other A Cappella groups from across the UK at one of the biggest singing events in this country
You will perform with the chorus at musical events, shows, weddings and other events
You will benefit from the expert knowledge and skills of the many visiting UK and international vocal coaches that we fund to coach us
We will make sure you have a 'buddy' who will take you under their wing and give you support and advice you might need during your first few weeks / months
What we ask in return:
We ask every member to commit to attending as many rehearsals as possible as we work hard to learn new songs and refresh our existing repertoire. If you cannot make a rehearsal we ask that you let your section leader know
It is important that you learn your notes accurately so that you can sing your part confidently
